What does quality mean at Josera?
We are the best when it comes to quality. It is part and parcel of our brand's DNA, which means we work passionately every day to develop, produce and market species-appropriate animal foods, something we feel passionate about.
At our facility in Kleinheubach, we do everything we produce, nothing less than the best animal food. We do so without any genetic engineering, animal testing or artificial additives - but in a sustainable, responsible way that is good for our animals.

Welcome to the Josera Laboratory
To ensure that the quality of our pet food always meets our own high criteria, we even have our own accredited laboratory at our Kleinheubach site. Food chemists, biologists and laboratory technicians work hand in hand and examine all incoming raw materials before they are processed according to the highest quality standards. In addition, they also check the outgoing products once again before they leave the factory. Our laboratory is the focal point of quality assurance for every Josera pet food.
What does ‘accredited’ actually mean?
The word ‘accredited’ comes from Latin and translates roughly as ‘give credence’. That sums up the meaning of the word pretty well as accreditation by an independent body is the basis for trust in internal controls. That's why we regularly undergo voluntary, neutral examinations in addition to government inspections. Our laboratory is a testing laboratory accredited by the DAkkS (German Accreditation Service) according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025. This accreditation is valid for the scope of accreditation listed in the annex D- PL-19819-01-00.
The best ingredients – The basis of our quality guarantee
Top quality begins with exceptional care taken over the selection of ingredients. That’s why we only use high-quality, natural and healthy ingredients in our premium dog and cat food. We do not use genetically-modified raw materials, nor do we ever use wheat, soy or any artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. Our supplier contracts guarantee this and we constantly monitor this aspect in our in-house laboratory. We place great importance on sustaining long-term and reliable relationships with our partners to ensure we are able to guarantee our high-quality standards on a continuous basis.
Of course, the meat components that we use come exclusively from animals that are suitable for human consumption. In order to protect wild fish stocks, we obtain the salmon contained in our products from environmentally-friendly European aquacultures. We also favour regional raw materials in the production of JOSERA premium petfood for environmental as well as quality purposes.
